Gregory Harrell, CPA, President
Greg is the co-founder of Paychecks Plus, established in 1996. He began his career in 1965 as a staff accountant for CA Brown & Company (now Brown Edwards). During his early career, he specialized in small business service including accounting & taxation. He also taught at National Business College while establishing the firm. He enjoys the challenge of identifying and solving problems for small business clients and managing the firm.
Greg is active in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Virginia Society of CPA's.
As a young staff accountant, he quickly realized his love of small business client service.

Mark Harrell, RTRP, Payroll & Business Consultant
Mark is the co-founder of Paychecks Plus, established in 1996, and has a long history developing the PEO payroll model for the firm. He is licensed by the Internal Revenue Service as a Registered Tax Return Preparer. He stays educated in the ever-changing payroll laws and focuses his attention on the firm's role in providing payroll support for its diverse clientele.
Mark is a graduate of Radford University with an Accounting Degree.
Mark is gregarious, and people are drawn to his happy personality.

Chad Young, MBA, RTRP, Senior Tax Consultant
Chad has a long history as a tax accountant, beginning his career with Paychecks Plus in 2001. He is licensed by the Internal Revenue Service as a Registered Tax Return Preparer. He keeps abreast of the ever-changing tax laws and focuses his attention on the firm's mission to be the Roanoke Valley’s leader in small business tax consulting. He is excellent in all areas of individual and business tax preparation and enjoys and understands client needs in tax planning.
Chad is a twice graduate of Virginia Tech receiving a Bachelor’s and Masters in Business Administration.
Chad considers his job as a labor of love and when he’s not working or with family, you can often find him on the golf course.

Trisha Alley, Executive Assistant & Operations Manager
Trisha has been with the Paychecks Plus since March of 2001, and what started as a job quickly turned into a career. Trisha handles more than just the internal workings of Paychecks Plus, she also handles licensing applications such as ABC, Lottery, ST-10C and SNAP just to name a few. She is also very knowledgeable with QuickBooks, Excel and Word.
Trisha lives in Vinton with her two crazy cats, Duke and Luna.

Amy Sowder, Payroll Director
Amy joined Paychecks Plus in August 2004. Amy operates our payroll department and has extensive experience in processing payroll through our PEO system. She is also educated in payroll related items such as insurance, employee benefits as well as employee deductions i.e. child support, tax liens and garnishments. Amy also assists employees with questions regarding withholding taxes.
Amy, originally from Texas, and her daughter, Myah, live in Salem. Amy spends most of her time on the soccer field, basketball court and cheer gym where her daughter does competitive cheer. After all, Amy is her biggest cheerleader. When she is not working or spending time with her family, she enjoys watching UVA football and shopping.

Noemi Aguilar, Office Manager
Noemi started in December 2015 and has great customer service skills. Whether its bookkeeping, business consulting or payroll, Noemi is well versed in it all. She provides priceless support to the firm in whatever area is needed.
Noemi along with her husband and 4 kids, Cassandra, Julia, Omar and Mato live in the Cave Spring area. Noemi enjoys watching her kids play sports and shopping. She is fluent in Spanish.

Kimberly Vargas, Receptionist & Business Support Specialist
Kimberly is our newest member of the team starting in November 2021. Very likely, she is the voice you hear on the phone or the person who greets you when you’re picking up payroll or tax returns. She moved here from Long Island, NY. She has a son named George and loves dogs! She is also fluent in Spanish.
